Gerald Scarfe is the UK’s most celebrated political cartoonist. This will be the first major exhibition of his lesser-known but hugely significant contribution to the performing arts: over the past 40 years he has designed sets, characters and costumes for Pink Floyd, Disney, English National Ballet, English National Opera and Los Angeles Opera.

House of Illustration’s fourth commission will be of reportage illustration by Lucinda Rogers, focusing on East London’s 200-year-old Ridley Road Market in Dalston and a new block of luxury flats soon to cast its shadow. Rogers captures the changing landscape of London through gentrification, combining the drawing and campaigning aspects of her work for the first time in this exhibition.
